The years 2015-2017 saw a record high number of refguees settling in Norway. Offered with a comprehensive Introduction Programme which aims at a quick and successful entrance into the labour market, they are expected to take up higher education or find employment in a relatively short period of time. Five years on, what do we know so far about how they are doing in the local labour market?
MAVI stands for “Between ambition and reality” in Norwegian (Mellom Ambisjon og Virkelighet). Supported by the University Fund, this project has the objective to further our understanding about the different aspects of labour market integration amongst recently arrived refugees in the Rogaland region in Norway. This research project includes statistical analyses using register data and questionnaire survey, as well as in-depth interviews with a wide range of stakeholders in the process of integration.
